I’m Baaaaccccckkkkk

Hello there bloggersphere… Bet you don’t even remember who I am.

Remember me, I’m the girl who used to write random posts about anything and everything, I went off the grid for a little while, came back with a brand new name and the odd post or two, then off I went again, now, I’m probably just a distant memory to you all.

Let me explain…

It’s been a tough month. Nothing drastic has happened, well, apart from losing my job. That’s it really.

I was fired (for absolutely no reason at all may I add) and from then on, I just lost my mojo. Not just when it came to blogging, but with everything, my whole life just kind of seemed like one great big waste of time. I had no motivation to do anything what so ever. The first couple of weeks I would spend day after day applying for every job under the sun, hoping for anything to come back as at least a maybe. It was about 2 weeks before I found out I’d been successful and (FINALLY) got myself a brand new job, in a much better company, for much better pay, and something with a much better chance of career progression.

I was happy as a pig in muck.

The only problem was that the job wouldn’t be available until the end of August. I guess you could see it as a good thing. It kind of pushed me to actually appreciate the time off. I love doing nothing, like so much. I won’t lie, I’m such a lazy person and doing nothing is probably one of my favourite things to do. I would spend hours on end just sat in bed binge watching Desperate Housewives on my laptop. Whenever I did get my laptop out, it would be to watch something and I never ‘found time’ to write a blog post.

Although my love for writing never disappeared, my passion for anything in life did, and it just so happened that my blog took a hit also.

When I found out I got the job, Jane from Jobwise (she basically got me the job, shes a GEM!!) said to me

“You may as well make the most of your last summer off”.

It was hearing that which sprung me into action. I began going for walks with my boyfriend, visiting Lyme Park and Dunham Massey. Going to the cinema pretty much everyday with our infinity passes. Visiting family. But something that has only happened in the last week or so, I started reading again!

Now, over the past few weeks, of an evening, Stephen and I had got into the worlds most antisocial habit of all…. each evening, we would go upstairs and he would play Fifa whilst I watched Desperate Housewives, then we would both watch a couple episodes of Brooklyn 99 before going to sleep. It was bliss. Then one day when I took Stephen to an appointment (which ended up being like two hours) I just sat in my car reading the book that I’d started on holiday, and boy did it get juicy.

Instead of watching Desperate Housewives whilst he played Fifa, I would read. Then when I finished that book I started another. This book I read in just over 24 hours!!! Talk about GRIPPING! (Keep a look out, I’ll be doing an interview with the author Hollie Overton, and a review of the book, Baby Doll, verrrrry soon).

I think getting back into reading, and remembering my big plans for my own book and being desperate to start writing that again, has made me want to bring some life back to my blog. I’m not going to have a schedule, I’ll just write whenever and wherever I feel like it.

I cannot wait to start my new job on Wednesday, and hopefully having some kind of routine back will help me to get my mojo back also.

One thing my passion didn’t go for over my little time away was cooking. In fact, I’ve been experimenting so much recently and I’ve also decided my dream is to write a cook book for the everyday person.

So keep a look out boys and girls, I’ll be back with book reviews, recipes, and random rabble in no time.

Much love

  1. HANNAH!! I’m so glad you’re back blogging again. I have missed reading your ramblings. Can’t wait to see what is to come and once again, I am so so soooo proud of you for getting that amazing job. LOVE YOU LOTS DOLL! XOX

    1. Thanks so much Britt, I couldn’t agreee more, if blogging was my full time job I would make so much more time for it but that can’t always be the case when you have another job also.
