- When doing your food shop, make a list of the meals you’re going to have each day, check your cupboards to see what you already have and make a list of what you need, add the treats you want but only a few, this way it will stop you wasting money on things you don’t need or already have and sticking to the list will prevent you from impulse purchases.
- NEVER GO SHOPPING WHEN YOU’RE HUNGRY!!!!
- When shopping online, create an account and leave things in your basket for a couple of days, not only will it stop you from impulse buying and give you a little time to think about whether or not you actually want it, but most websites will send you a personal discount code to encourage you to buy it…save those pennies boys and girls.
- If you have a few different keys, either get little coloured caps or have them cut with patterns on to speed up the process of getting into your house, you’ll be able to remember which colour or pattern is for which key! This is one of the best things I’ve done… plain silver keys confuse me too much I spend way too long putting each key in the lock.
- If you’re wanting to go braless but not wanting your nipples saying hi to every man and his dog, use maternity pads rather than nipple covers. They mould better so don’t look as obvious, they’re cheaper, and they also stick to your clothes rather than your skin so much more comfortable.
- If your drink has gone a little warm, wrap a wet paper towel round it and put it in the freezer, it will be ice cold in 3 minutes!! (Thank my cousin Zoe and Auntie Catherine for this one… absolute genius).
- To stop your mascara drying out quickly, don’t pump it between application, put the stick in the bottle and twist before taking out. Pumping it will allow air into the tube which dries it out quicker.
- If it does end up drying out, but the mascara tube in boiling water, it will loosen to the product meaning you can use it a little longer.
- If your nail vanish has gone all thick and gloopy, add just a couple of drops of nail varnish remover and give it a good shake, it will be back to normal in no time.
- Last but not least, hang nice smelling car air fresheners in your wardrobe to keep your clothes smelling fresh and beautiful.
Great advice! I’ve never thought of putting car fresheners in the wardrobe – that’s genius.

For the keys – nail polish! Just paint the part of the key that you would normally cap in different colours. It’s a cheap and easy fix.
